We pioneer the finest of Irish produce with our freshly made sandwiches & soups, as well as our extended kitchen menu, available all day. If you’re not too peckish why not have a Fair-trade coffee while reading a book from our library. We pride ourselves on providing the best experience possible and if you’re in a hurry, all our food and drink is available to takeaway.
Run by Galwayman Paul Fogarty whose knowledge of food and drink is second to none. Probus has become the "go to" lunchtime venue for lovers of good food. Paul’s love affair with food and wine goes back a long way. A trained chef, he also holds the W.S.E.T. (Wine & Spirit Education Trust) Diploma in Wines & Spirits and has been lecturing for them in Ireland for nearly 20 years. So you know you’re in good hands.
The closer the better, that’s why we use Irish artisan products and producers where possible. Some of our suppliers include Finnerty’s Butchers, The Village Butcher, Sheridans Cheesemongers, Matt Butler Vegetables, Smithfield Market. You can enjoy a glass or a bottle of any of our fine wines, we only add 20% to our takeout price if you drink it in store. Our staff will be happy to suggest a wine pairing with any of our food. Or if you’re looking to improve your tasting skills we have a PROwine Academy where you can learn (and taste) about wine.
With over a 100 craft beers and 3 taps rotating the finest in Irish and global draught beers, you certainly won’t go thirsty or bored. We have everything from lagers to porters, IPA’s to Trappist Beers and everything in between. As with our wine we just add 20% to our takeaway price if you drink in store. Which means great beer at a great price.
