The Ernst & co Merlot 2005 has a dark red core with a cherry colored rim.  The nose is full of lovely cocoa and dark chocolate aromas with a herbaceous undertone.  On the palate it is a rich, succulent mouthful of chocolate and black berry fruit, ripe plums especially with just a touch of liquorice at the end.  The Ernst & Co Merlot 2005 is a versatile wine to be enjoyed on its own or with pork, venison and a good old South African barbeque.
